It has been such a long time since I've participated in her challenges, but I'm back in action now. I have made some cards lately, but I just haven't posted anything that I've done. This card is very similar, okay almost identical to my cherry card in one of my first posts. But these colors were screaming for some Mary Engelbreit inspired design. I think it turned out pretty cute. Hope you like it.

Kwerner Color Challenge #24

Today's card is a fun card with fabulous fall colors. This was a quickie. I embossed the stamped image with white embossing powder. The rest is pretty self-explanatory. Simple, simple. Hope you enjoy this one.

Kwerner Color Challenge #22

I'm loving a little bit of sparkle and glam. I've used these rhinestones in my last card as well. I think they add such detail. This was a very interesting challenge. I'm not a big fan of Bravo Burgundy, but I think it turned out quite nice. I would love to hear what ya'll think.

On another note, I want to honor those who lost their lives on 9-11-01. My husband and I went to NY the last week in August and were able to visit the memorial they have made to all of the individuals across the street from Ground Zero. It was such a heartbreaking experience to read testimonials of those who lost someone they love. On one of the walls I read a short clip and I can't remember the exact words, but it went something like this..."Name? was such a fun loving guy, last week was his birthday, he would have been...he was my husband...I love him and miss him so much." The tears started flowing after I read this dear wife's message honoring her husband whom she misses so much. I can't imagine the pain that these individuals went through in losing their lives and the family's agony of loss. I have a new appreciation for all people involved on what was such a horrific day. My heart goes out to you and I Will Never Forget 9-11!

Wow over 850 hits in two days. That's incredible! All thanks to KWerner. :) It would be so fun to hear from all of you. Happy Friday to all of you. I love Friday's after a long day at work. I look forward to two days filled with relaxation and family time.

What a long, short week. Back to school, back to work, soccer practice, cub scouts and much more. Nothing like getting right back into things after a long vacation.

Here’s a card that I made last night. I wish I could get my coloring just right in the 1st photo.

I used Kristina’s colors for this week, #21. Pacific blue, kiwi, regal rose, rose red, and white. I had to substitute Tempting Turquoise and Old Olive because I haven't gotten the new In Colors yet! This was a fun color combination challenge. As always I usually revert to less color and more white. All products are SU except the rhinestones from Doodlebug.

kRISTINA'S cOLOR cHALLENGE

So I said I wasn't going to be making any cards until September, but I really wanted to participate in this one and I couldn't go to sleep. So here it is.

This entry is right down to the wire. To bad I had to take the photo at night the picture didn't turn out so well. I'm not so sure I like this card. I kept trying so many different things, but wasn't ever pleased with what it looked like. Although, I really like the color combo and the option to pick your color. This is my second submission for Kristina's color challenge. I always miss them somehow, but I love to see what everyone comes up with.

I have fallen in love with these owls from Sassafras Lass. They seem to be the hot trend lately. I can't get enough of them. I haven't had much time to scrap lately. This is a card that I made a while back. It's so Cinco de Mayo!! Speakin' of celebrations, I'll be celebrating my big 30th b-day tomorrow, hopefully with some Mexican food followed by some yummy Cold Stone Ice Cream. Mmmmm, can't wait!

I went to a bridal shower for my sis-in-law to be (Julie) on Saturday and I was asked to bring something for their first breakfast. I love finding the perfect gift. Although my brother really isn't much of a breakfast guy - I hope that changes. I decided to give them an Aebelskiver pan and then found some yummy recipes that you can make with your pan at Williams-Sonoma. If you have a pan you should go check out their recipes. I decided to put together a recipe book for her. I think it turned out pretty fun. Here are just a few samples that are in the book.

This card is inspired by Mary Engelbreit. I love the color combinations that she uses in her artwork and absolutely love cherries. I hope you enjoy this card. It was such a fun one to make. I first thought about making the bowl a teacup, but really wanted to add the cherries into the mix.

New Blog!!

So I have finally decided to start a blog solely related to paper crafting (my biggest obsession lately) and other things of interest. I haven't decided if I like the look of the new blog yet. However, I was determined to create a 3 column blog. I hope this blog can be a site of inspiration to you. I'm going to start off by sharing a card that I entered into the Paper Crafts Magazine Gallery Idol Challenge. Wow, there's some good competition out there.
